TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA)— Tropical Storm Fernand continued to weaken Tuesday and is expected to become a post-tropical cyclone soon, the National Hurricane Center said.

Fernand is located about 635 miles east-northeast of Bermuda and is moving toward the northeast at about 14 mph.

According to the NHC, a faster northeast motion is anticipated over the next few days.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to about 45 mph.

Fernand is expected to become a post-tropical cyclone tonight or early Wednesday before dissipating Thursday, NHC said.

There are no coastal warnings or watches in effect. The NHC is not monitoring additional areas of the Atlantic for potential development.
