Motorists driving on Highway 97 south of Macdoel should expect traffic controls and 20-minute delays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays, according to the California Department of Transportation.
Caltrans District 2 announced crews will work along an 11-mile stretch of the highway between late August and mid-September. That area is approximately 11 miles south of Macdoel, and stretches from 1.1 miles north of Tennant Road to 1.7 miles south of Ball Mountain Road, according to Caltrans.
Caltrans asked drivers to slow down, watch for workers and drive carefully in construction areas. They also cautioned motorists to watch for speed limit reductions and allow extra time for travel delays.
Caltrans will place a cape seal — an asphalt rubber chip seal capped with slurry surfacing — over th
