JACKSON, MI — A Jackson man was seriously injured Monday night when a fellow motorist ran a red light and crashed into the vehicle he was driving, throwing him from the car.

Rescue crews were called at 9:03 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, to the intersection of North West Avenue and Wildwood Avenue for a report of a two-vehicle crash with injuries, Jackson Police Chief Christopher Simpson said.

The preliminary investigation showed the vehicle at fault was traveling south on North West Avenue when its driver ran the red traffic light, striking a vehicle heading west on Wildwood Avenue, Simpson said.

The driver of the car on Wildwood Avenue, a 63-year-old Jackson man, was ejected from the vehicle , Simpson said.
