KINGSTREE, S.C. (WCSC) - Kingstree Police have charged a Salters woman with the death of an infant.
Armina Lavette Seal-Middleton, 52, is charged with homicide by child abuse, Kingstree Police say.
Kingstree Police responded on Monday to a Dollar General to help Williamsburg County EMS with a medical call involving an unresponsive infant found in a vehicle that was not running, Police Chief Kimberly Marlow said.
EMS took the infant to an area hospital where it the child was pronounced dead.
Investigatos say the infant was in Seal-Middleton’s care at the time.
Kingstree Police and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division’s Child Fatality Unit are investigating the death.
Seal-Middleton was arrested and booked into the Williamsburg County Detention Center.
