A Macomb County resident whose body was found Tuesday morning following a large search apparently died by suicide, according to police.
Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a Lenox Township residence to respond to a report of a missing and suicidal male in the area.
A search was initiated involving sheriff’s deputies, Chesterfield Township police officers, and Michigan State Police troopers.
After several hours of searching, a deputy located the male deceased with a gunshot wound near the Meijer store on 26 Mile Road, west of County Line Road, in Lenox Township.
The individual was 24 years old, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Macomb Daily generally does not report on suicides unless the act takes place in a public setting, as was the case here.
