CLAY CITY, Ky. (FOX 56) — An Irvine man has been charged after a 29-year-old woman was killed in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) crash Monday afternoon.

Around 2:20 p.m. on Aug. 25, Kentucky State Police said Powell County Dispatch called to ask for help investigating a fatal ATV crash.

Investigators said that Shawn Cornett, 32, and Ashley Plowman were riding an ATV on the roadway near the 7800 block of Hardwicks Creek Road when Cornett reportedly lost control. An arrest citation noted that the four-wheeler overturned several times.

Plowman was declared dead at the scene by the Powell County Coroner, KSP confirmed.

As KSP continued the investigation, a trooper noted in the citation that video footage showed Cornett and Plowman riding a four-wheeler. A witness reportedly saw the crash and
