TUSCALOOSA, Ala. —
The Tuscaloosa Sheriff's Office released the name of an inmate who died following a fight with another inmate last week.
Tarius Washington, 29, was found unresponsive on Friday, according to the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit (VCU).
Jail staff rendered aid and EMS crews took the inmate to the hospital at 1:20 a.m., where he was pronounced dead.

Another inmate, Patrick Means, 39, has been charged with manslaughter connected to the incident.
The VCU, officers and supervisors who are not affiliated with the jail are investigating.
