NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Kellen Moore has officially named Spencer Rattler the New Orleans Saints’ starting quarterback for Week 1, a decision announced Tuesday after a closely watched preseason battle.

The announcement comes following the Saints’ 28-19 preseason finale loss to Denver, which Moore said gave the team clarity on the QB competition.

Rattler, in his second year with the team, edged out rookie Tyler Shough after showed flashes in camp and preseason.
