The wings of Lufthansa's restored Lockheed L-1649A “Superstar” have arrived in Frankfurt, where they will be attached to the fuselage, which arrived earlier this month. Once reassembled, the aircraft will be Lufthansa’s main attraction at the new Lufthansa Group Conference & Visitor Center (CVC) in Frankfurt am Main.

The L-1649A will bring a nostalgic touch to the new facilities, reminding visitors of a time when the airline’s transatlantic flights were operated by piston engine aircraft. Today, the carrier’s transatlantic journeys are dominated by the most modern jetliners, including the Airbus A350, Airbus A380 , and Boeing 787.
