A Macomb County resident has been identified as one of four people stabbed during a Detroit backyard pool party earlier this month.
Jakirea Williams of Chesterfield Township was named as one of two people who died following the attack. Two others are recuperating from their injuries.
The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday released information on the violent encounter after Daiwan Lemane Hopson was charged in the incident.
“What started out as a friendly family and friends end of the summer gathering turned deadly with four people stabbed,” Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said in a news release.
“Two succumbed to their injuries. A disagreement. A quick escalation. An introduction of a deadly weapon. And then multiple deaths. So senseless. So tragic. And so very violent,” she
