The journey down to 53 rolls on at Gillette Stadium.

The New England Patriots waived running back Terrell Jennings and tight end Gee Scott Jr. ahead of the NFL roster deadline on Tuesday.

The moves were first reported by Christopher Price of the Boston Globe and Mark Daniels of MassLive.

Jennings, 24, had been sidelined for back-to-back preseason games. The Florida A&M product landed in Foxborough as an undrafted tryout at rookie minicamp in 2024. After leading the team in rushing last August, he went on to serve as an elevation from the practice squad and was promoted to the 53-man roster in December.

The 6-foot, 217-pound Jennings made three appearances for the backfield by regular season’s end. He logged 33 yards from scrimmage across 13 touches, handling 38 snaps on offense to go w
