KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Local and state leaders are responding to the death of a Kansas City, Kansas, police officer killed in the line of duty Tuesday.
KCK officer Hunter Simoncic was hit while trying to stop a car involved in a chase and was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The suspect who was driving the car has been arrested.
Simoncic was 26 years old and graduated from the Kansas City, Kansas Police Academy in 2023. He was from Galesburg, Kansas.
