HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said it arrested a 12-time convicted felon after he was trying to sell guns in Tampa.
On Sunday, deputies said they surveyed 44-year-old Christopher Newman's home on East Sligh Avenue after receiving a tip that he was trying to sell guns.
They found him leaving his house with a large bag before riding away on an e-bike.
"Despite Newman's attempt to flee, he was quickly intercepted and taken into custody," deputies said in a news release.
Deputies said Newman discarded his bag before he was taken into custody; however, they were able to recover it.
Inside the bag, the sheriff's office said it found a Marlin 3030 Lever Action Rifle that had been reported stolen in Hillsborough County, a Winchester 16 Gauge Short
