IOWA CITY — Iowa football defensive lineman Jeremiah Pittman has returned from injury and is back in action, Hawkeyes head coach Kirk Ferentz said Aug. 26.

"It took a long time getting him back," Ferentz said. "I think last time you guys saw us, he was on the sideline (at the Kids Day open practice). He's been back probably about a week and a half right now and it's been pretty seamless. So the good news is, it was a long recovery but he's doing well. I think we just have to be smart about his volume. But again, anytime you get a senior back, who's experienced and he's got a great attitude and a good player. "

Pittman, who is entering his fifth season in the Iowa program, has appeared in 26 games during his Hawkeye career, all in a backup role. He has tallied 27 tackles across that
