State officials have released their preliminary findings on what caused the death of a Grosse Pointe Park man who was electrocuted while performing landscaping work in Sterling Heights.
The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MiOSHA) said the 41-year-old man was killed by an electrical shock on Monday afternoon. He was employed as a school bus driver
According to MiOSHA’s initial report, the bus driver “was in a boom lift performing the non-routine task of trimming trees near energized power lines at the perimeter of the school bus parking lot.”
During the work, the victim “came in contact with the power lines and died from injuries sustained,” state officials said.
