HENDERSON, Ky. — Gov. Andy Beshear and the Kentucky State Police (KSP) announced that the agency is accepting applications with increased starting salaries and benefits.
Cadets who join and meet the requirements can earn salaries that begin at $69,500, KSP said.
"We have such a good tradition, but our salaries haven't always been competitive, so now we're thrilled to offer that," explained Lt. Charles Hedgespeth.
Selected candidates will receive guaranteed assignments at their home post locations, including Post 2 in Owensboro and Post 16 in Henderson.
"It allows new troopers to have an impact in the communities they grew up in," continued Lt. Hedgespeth.
