KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — University of Tennessee's head coach for football is set to stay in Rocky Top until at least the start of 2030.

On Tuesday, the university announced that coach Josh Heupel's contract had been extended through January 2030, after he led Tennessee football to its winningest three-year stretch in more than two decades.

During his time at Tennessee, Heupel has produced a 37-15 record with 11 victories over top 25 teams, as well as the school's first College Football Playoff and New Year's Six appearances. His .712 winning percentage is the second-highest of any Vol coach during the last five decades.
