A total of 24 bodies and multiple containers of bones and several containers of "probable human tissue" were confirmed to have been in the Davis Mortuary in Pueblo, according to a news release Tuesday from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
The remains in the containers belong to an unknown number of deceased individuals, the release stated. All of the remains have been transferred to the El Paso County Coroner's Office to attempt identification.
Preliminary processing of the Davis Mortuary building has been completed by investigators.
