DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - The state of Minnesota announced Tuesday that $62 million is heading to Duluth to help replace lead pipes.

The money will be put toward seven service line replacement projects, replacing lead lines with copper lines.

Crews will be focused on the Lincoln Park, Central Hillside and Fairmount neighborhoods.

They will also be focusing on Chester Park Drive Alley, Raleigh Street and London Road.

Duluth spokespeople say the city has fixed lead pipes for more than 1,800 households so far this year.
