All swimming holes in Langford have been cleared for users, the city announced Tuesday, after a beach advisory was issued for an area of Langford Lake earlier this month.
Island Health first issued the beach advisory for Langford Lake – Ed Nixon Terrace on Aug. 13 due to high levels of bacteria.
In a social media post Tuesday, the municipality said the advisory had been lifted and that there were “no beach advisories currently in effect in the City of Langford.”
Several beach advisories remain in place for other communities on Vancouver Island, however.
In Thetis Lake Regional Park, a blue green algae alert remains for both Thetis Lake Beach and Prior Lake.
