TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A local group has announced that they now have money, not only for mental health needs, but also for people who just need a meal or a coat.

Margie Anshutz is the President of the Hamilton Center Foundation. She said the foundation helps provide the center with money quicker than a grant would.

"Hamilton Center applies for many grants throughout the year, both state and federal grants, but they're cumbersome", Anshutz said. "They're difficult to apply for, they're highly competitive, and they're very prescriptive. The foundation can grant money to Hamilton Center with a lot less of that red tape, so we're able to quickly respond to community needs as we see it and when they happen."
