WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Nearly two months after the deadly floods in the Texas Hill Country, many are still trying to pick up the pieces. But one group from Central Texas has stepped in to help.

Shortly after the flood waters receded almost 70 volunteers with Heritage Youth Missions, a Homestead Heritage organization, traveled to Hunt, Texas.

“I think every fellow Texan felt the same call to go help,” said Stephen Wheeler, an organizer with Heritage Youth Missions.

Since then they’ve gone back two more times, and Wheeler was on every one. He says for them the decision to go was an easy one since this is what they normally do.

“We have a full team of licensed tradesmen and we have a lot of just labor, a lot of resources, businesses donating equipment,” he shared.
