MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (Northern News Now) - There is a developing situation in Minneapolis after a shooting left one person dead and half a dozen others injured.
According to our sister station, KARE 11, Minneapolis police were dispatched to the area of East 29th and Clinton Avenue Street at about 1:30 p.m. on reports of gunfire.
A large law enforcement response and first responders are currently on scene in that South Minneapolis neighborhood.
Police Chief Brian O’Hara addressed the media during a press conference, saying the shooting suspect fired 30 rounds with a high velocity .223 rifle before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
He also said the shooting is not random.
