JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, Wash. — Four soldiers have been charged in the sexual assault of a college student, now-commissioned officer of the Army at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM).

The incident took place Oct. 27, 2024.

Cpl. Pedro Angel Ruiz, 29; Army Pvt. 2nd Class Deron J. Gordon, 20; Army Specialist Jadon Bosarge, 24; and Private First Class Kallon Curiel, 19, were all charged in April 2025. The Army Office of Special Trial Counsel has referred multiple charges for all four of them. Curiel is also facing two additional charges for a sexual assault case out of Arizona involving a child.
