BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - Dickinson native Hope Magelky is competing for the U.S. Women’s National Sled Hockey Team in the inaugural World Para Ice Hockey Women’s Championships. Magelky, who now lives in Bismarck, is one of two goalies on the U.S. team.

Magelky is the first female from North Dakota to ever play for the team. She got the start in net for game one of the championships on Tuesday, which the U.S. won 8-0 over Australia.

Magelky first made the U. S. national team roster in 2021.

The U.S. national team will wrap up pool play on Thursday before placement games begin over the weekend. You can find the full schedule with links to watch the games here .
