BILLINGS, Mont. – A body discovered at Duck Creek has been identified by the Yellowstone County Coroner's Office.
The deceased is 49-year-old Jason Sims, a resident of Billings. Search and rescue pilots found Sims last night while returning from a call in Stillwater County.
Sheriff Mike Linder stated that the pilots noticed what appeared to be a body in the creek and promptly alerted emergency crews to the scene. Initially, the area was treated as a crime scene.
However, the coroner's office confirmed that the cause of death was accidental drowning.
Both the sheriff's department and the coroner's office have notified Sims' next of kin.
