BILLINGS, Mont. – A strike against Boise Cascade in Billings has reached its 28th day as negotiations between the company and Teamsters Local 190 continue to be at a standstill.
Since July 29, twenty members of Teamsters Local 190 have been off the job. The union claims that Boise Cascade has refused to offer a fair contract. Workers have been advocating for higher wages and improved health benefits.
Business agent Darren Davis shared that while the union has dropped its demand for lower healthcare premiums, they remain firm on the need for better pay. "We’re really close. It’s down to a monetary thing and the company’s just not willing to budge," Davis said. "It’s like playing marbles—you move pieces around, but at the end of the day, it’s still just a few marbles. Add another marble an
