SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Dove season begins in the Concho Valley on September 1, and a historic population size will lead to great hunting.

With the upcoming historic season, game wardens have listed the requirements for the season.

"Be mindful that you need a valid hunting license when you go out there," said Texas Game Warden Jade Carter. "You gotta get your migratory game bird endorsement. You gotta have your HIP certification. Those are some of the things that we look for quite a lot and start writing tickets for if you don't have it.
