DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) --The race for Avon mayor has been called. Evan Gardner has won.

Gardner, a local real estate agent, took home the win with 43 votes (77%). His opponent, Army veteran and businessman Jeffery Benton ended the night with 13 votes (23%)

This was the first mayoral election in Avon in over 20 years.
