NEWPORT, R.I. (WPRI) — The Trump administration's move to halt the Revolution Wind project is receiving mixed reactions from Rhode Islanders.

Though most Rhode Island leaders are condemning the stop-work order for the project, which is 80% complete, the fishing industry is celebrating it.

"Our state officials didn't fight for our right to survival, but the Trump administration just did," said Seafreeze's Meghan Lapp at a rally in favor of the stop-work order Tuesday.

Lapp said those against the offshore wind farm believe it will damage important fishing grounds and negatively impact the ocean.
