INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- City planners in Independence, Missouri approved the next step in placing a Wally's Travel Center near Noland Road on Tuesday night.

On Tuesday night, the city’s planning commission approvesd Wally’s pitch with a 5-1 vote, forwarding the proposal from the Texas-based gas attraction to the full city council on September 15.

So far, Wally's has two locations, and some describe it as being somewhere between a giant Buc-ee's and a smaller QuikTrip.

Wally's intends to place a 54,000 square foot gas station with 84 pumps and 12 E-V chargers on Noland Road, near Interstate 70.
