PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — The community has rallied around Churchland Little League after more than $1,500 of donated equipment was stolen from the inside of a locked storage container at Churchland Park last week.
Little League President Zach Fly said speakers, a projector, a projector screen, microphones and sound mixer boards were all taken.
Not even one week after sharing their story, the president of Churchland Little League said they are on track to have everything replaced, and that’s all thanks to people in the community.
"We knew that people have a soft spot for kids' sports and things like that," Fly said. "But we were never expecting like what we got in the outpouring and the amount of people that were willing to give back and help us out."
