PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A Gresham man was convicted of kidnapping and raping two women in 2023 by a Clackamas County jury on Tuesday.

Julio Cesar Escamilla-Ramos, 31, was found guilty on two counts of first-degree kidnapping, two counts of first-degree rape, four counts of sexual abuse and first-degree sodomy. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 29.

The first sexual assault occurred in Aug. 2023

"A 38-year-old woman was walking home from an event in Molalla when Escamilla-Ramos offered her a ride. Escamilla-Ramos began driving in the opposite direction of her destination and would not let her out of his car," the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office said. "He took the woman to a remote location, raped her and left her there."
