A man is in critical condition following a shooting in Seattle's Chinatown-International District on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred around 3:48 p.m. near South Jackson Street and 12th Avenue South.

Seattle police responded to reports of the shooting and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body, specifically near his shoulder. Officers provided immediate assistance until medics arrived and transported the man to Harborview Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.

According to police, the shooting followed an altercation between the suspect and the victim. Witnesses reported that the suspect fired multiple rounds, hitting the victim and also damaging an electric transformer in the area. After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene heading northbound on 12th Avenue in a light-colored vehicle. The identity of the suspect has not yet been determined.
