PORTLAND, Oregon — Portland Fire & Rescue crews responded to a brush fire in the Cathedral Park neighborhood Tuesday evening, with the blaze initially reported as 30 feet by 30 feet with 2-foot flame lengths.

According to social media posts from Portland Fire & Rescue, the initial crew set up at the top of the bluff, while a brush unit headed to the bottom around 9:36 p.m.

The fire quickly grew to 200 feet by 200 feet, spreading from top to bottom of the slope, according to the social posts. Crews focused on stopping fire growth on the side where larger fuels were present, while one side of the slope had reduced fuels.
