GRANT COUNTY, Wash. -- With the beginning of the school year upon us, local law enforcement is keeping an eye out to ensure the roads are safe for students to return to school.

Moses Lake Police Department and Grant County Sheriff's Office are teaming up to increase traffic enforcement around local schools.

MLPD said the extra enforcement will focus on school zone speed, distracted driving, pedestrian safety and other traffic violations.

"We urge you to drive extra slowly, keep your phone put away and be on the lookout for little walkers," said MLPD.
