CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. -- Federal officials are examining several items found during a two-day search for Travis Decker near the Rock Island Campground.
According to the FBI Seattle office, the search took place on Monday and Tuesday of this week near Leavenworth. The purpose of the search was to find Travis Decker, the man accused of kidnapping and murdering his three daughters.
More than 100 people in multiple search teams helped comb through the remote outdoor area over those two days. In total, the search covered around 247 acres.
"A search of this magnitude and detail has not previously taken place in the area," the FBI Seattle said. "We not only accomplished our goal of covering the entire area intended for this operation, but we also searched beyond the primary search perimeter."
