Two teenagers have been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting of a 14-year-old boy in Toronto's east end earlier this month, police say.
The shooting happened just before 4 p.m. on Aug. 6 near the intersection of Lawrence Avenue E. and Warden Avenue, police said in a news release.
The victim and both accused allegedly had a "verbal altercation" on a TTC bus prior to the shooting, police said. They then got off the bus and one of the accused brandished a firearm and fired several rounds at the victim, police allege.
The victim was wounded in the leg and attempted to flee, police said. Both the accused allegedly followed him and physically assaulted him before fleeing.
The 14-year-old was ultimately taken to hospital with a non-life-threatening injury, police said.
