OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEVV) — Longtime Owensboro barbecue restaurant received a top, statewide honor this month.

Kentucky Living Magazine unveiled its 2025 "Best in Kentucky" awards and Moonlite Bar-B-Q Inn received first place for best Barbecue in the state.

The honors were announced on August 13th and the winners received the awards during this year's Kentucky State Fair in Louisville.

The long-standing restaurant, located on West Parrish Avenue, has existed for over 50 years in the Owensboro community. The Bosley family has owned the restaurant since 1963, which offers multiple styles of barbecue in a buffet style, along with carryout. In a description by Kentucky Living for the award, it stated:
