MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A Memphis Police (MPD) officer was hospitalized after a crash Monday night in the Medical District, the department said.
FOX13 crews on scene saw an MPD cruiser with the front end severely damaged in the area of Manassas Street and Adams Avenue. According to police, the officer's cruiser and another car crashed into each other at the intersection just after 8 p.m.
MPD said the officer was injured but was expected to recover.
In a report, MPD said the man was tased after he tried to leave the scene.
Police said he had "signs of delirium and indications that he was under the influence of an unknown substance and/or alcohol." MPD said he also failed a sobriety test.
