Young Vancouver artists spent six weeks creating a mural that was unveiled on Friday.
In July, Vancouver company Shifted Theory teamed up with Fourth Plain Forward and La Casita Art Gallery & Cultural Center to create the Youth Mural Project. It gave six young graffiti artists, taggers and alternative artists the chance to legally create a mural to be displayed on the Grocery Outlet at 5800 N.E. Fourth Plain Blvd. The composition of their ideas was unveiled Friday during a ribbon-cutting ceremony with live music and food — but most of all, community.
“It was really nice to see the kids in front of the mural. To see how they can visualize something to scale and put it up on the wall,” said Christian Barrios, owner of La Casita Art Gallery & Cultural Center. “It was a beautiful proje
