Investigation into suspicious article in southeast Lincoln neighborhood

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) -Lincoln Fire and Rescue is investigating a suspicious article in a southeast Lincoln neighborhood.

Crews were called to an area near 46th Street and Normal Boulevard around 7 a.m. on Wednesday. LFR spokesperson MJ Lierman says the article was found by a homeowner in the area.

Lierman says the LFR Hazardous Device technician has been called to the scene.

The streets are blocked off in the area as officials continue to investigate. The Lincoln Police Department and Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office are also both on scene.
