An undocumented Romanian man accused of stealing $400,000 worth of jewelry was arrested on Monday in Martin County, deputies said.
Marcus Rostas, 33, is facing several charges, including grand theft and displaying blank forged or stolen documents.
According to the Martin County Sheriff's Office, deputies stopped and arrested Rostas in Stuart, along Martin Downs Boulevard, where they found jewelry, including high-end watches, a $40,000 diamond ring, gold chains, gold coins, and $30,000 in cash.
During his arrest, deputies said they found the jewelry inside a child's stuffed animal in his vehicle and noticed that Rostas' son was wearing a stolen Rolex, and his young daughter was wearing a stolen high-end necklace.
His wife was also in the car, but she was not arrested.
