Florida’s 2025 Gulf private recreational red snapper season begins on Labor Day

The 2025 Gulf red snapper private recreational fall season will be begin to Florida fishermen on Labor Day.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, fishermen with private recreational vessels or state-permitted charter vessels that do not have a federal reef fish permit will be allowed to participate.

Harvesting in Florida Gulf state waters will only apply to state-permitted charter vessels without a federal reef fish permit.
