An investigation continues Wednesday after police say potentially explosive materials were delivered to a business in southwest Calgary.

The Emergency Operations Centre was activated Tuesday evening to manage the controlled disposal of the materials that were found in the Manchester Industrial Area, around 47 Avenue and 1 Street SW.

An area business received the package around noon and made a call to police, which dispatched the Calgary Police Service (CPS) Tactical Unit.

CPS worked with the Calgary Fire Department (CFD) to figure out what to do next.

Investigators believe the package was wrongfully delivered to the business and the materials were too unstable to move.
