A southern Arizona utility asked state regulators to approve an agreement to supply energy for a mega data center project in Pima County, weeks after the project was rejected by the Tucson City Council.
Tucson Electric Power on Aug. 25 filed a proposed energy service agreement for a 290-acre data center in Pima County with the Arizona Corporation Commission. The agreement would last at least ten years and allow TEP to provide 286 megawatts of electricity for the data center by 2028, according to the filing.
