Pat “OD” O’Donnell hoped this year’s Foodstock charity concert would at least raise $4,000 to bring the total collected since the first event in 2012 to more than $100,000. He was overwhelmed when he learned Saturday’s concert raised more than 10 times that amount.
As of Tuesday morning, Foodstock organizers had tallied $40,359 in monetary donations from the Aug. 23 music festival, said O’Donnell, who started Foodstock over a decade ago as his 60th birthday celebration in his backyard. The event has since grown into a major concert event in downtown Washington at the Farmers’ Market Pavilion. ×
