LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — It was all fun and games on campus Tuesday evening, a return to normalcy after heightened concern earlier in the day at the University of Kentucky.
UK is now one of at least 13 schools to get a false active shooter call since Aug. 21. UK officials said just after noon, law enforcement responded to a report of a shooter near the William T. Young Library.
"Well, at first, I didn't know it was a false active shooter; I thought it was real," said UK freshman Marlee Coburn.
Coburn said she first heard about the reported shooter from her mom, as she was eating lunch in the northern part of campus.
"My mom texted me and she was like, 'Oh, you might want to like, you know, take some more precautions,'" she added.
