The Minneapolis Police Department is responding to an active shooter situation at a church and Catholic School in the south side of the city on Wednesday (August 27) morning. According to KARE , the gunman opened fire at Annunciation Church, resulting in multiple casualties. Some of the victims are reportedly children. At least 20 people were shot, and at least two people have died. Four people are in critical condition.

KMSP reported that the school children were attending morning mass at the time of the shooting.

The City of Minneapolis posted on social media that the suspect is "contained" and that there is no longer an "active threat to the community."
