A grand jury indicted two people in the U.S. District Court for the District of Alaska Thursday for fentanyl-related crimes. A man is accused of dealing fentanyl that led to a person’s death and a woman is accused of possessing fentanyl.

Jacob Ryan Peter, 25, is accused of dealing fentanyl to a person on March 3 who died on March 4. The victim was not named in the indictment. Genesis Marie Nance, 35, was charged with possessing more than 40 grams of fentanyl with the intent to distribute on Aug. 5, 2025. Nance was previously convicted of drug trafficking conspiracy.

According to an indictment in state court, Nance allegedly possessed fentanyl powder and fentanyl pills in a pink suitcase and gold and pink purse on Aug. 5 at or near Nenana. She faces three charges of felony second-degree d
